‘In all the houses I have lived in,
the kitchen is the dearest place.
I’ve cried there, and laughed.
Started and ended things. Decided, doubted, contemplated, listened,
have been heard...’
Liisbeth Kala
A BODY TO DWELL deviser, performer
‘I’ve always underestimated (even despised!) my toes, sadly
‘cus they’ve been crooked and weird.’
‘regarding my practice... I’m interested in cognitive physicality
if that’s a thing
music, music, music,
rather creating atmospheres and portraying feelings than following rigid narratives and dramatic structures
at the moment, for me, it’s this fine balance between life and art, fiction and non-fiction, real and fake, manipulation and truthfulness... these topics burn within me
all in all trying to answer the question
why art, if life is so surreal and absurd already
I’m fascinated in something called aesthetics of boredom, and how to create stillness and slowness through creativity so people can take time off and zoom in’
